Preview: Independence Bulldogs vs. Field Kindley Golden Tornado
Independence is 9-1 against Field Kindley since February of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Independence Bulldogs will head out on the road to face off against the Field Kindley Golden Tornado. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Independence scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Pittsburg with a sharp 55-31 victory. Perhaps unsurprisinly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest win of the season.
Even though Field Kindley has not done well against Columbus recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. Field Kindley came out on top against Columbus by a score of 45-34. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Field Kindley.
The victory got Independence back to even at 7-7-1. As for Field Kindley, they now have a winning record of 5-4.
Independence was able to grind out a solid victory over Field Kindley in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, winning 39-31. The rematch might be a little tougher for Independence since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
