Basketball Game Preview: Carnegie Wildcats vs. Lookeba-Sickles Panthers

Carnegie is 6-1 against Lookeba-Sickles since January of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Carnegie Wildcats challenge the Lookeba-Sickles Panthers at 5:15 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Carnegie saw some tournament action on Monday. They were outmatched by Fort Cobb-Broxton and fell 78-47. The Wildcats haven't had much luck with the Mustangs recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.

The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Kevin Galvez, who went 5 of 9 en route to 10 points and five boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Ken Whittington, who posted ten points.

Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 63-33, which was the final score in Lookeba-Sickles' tilt against Fletcher on Saturday. The Panthers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Lookeba-Sickles' defeat dropped their record down to 3-11. As for Carnegie, they now have a losing record at 7-8.

Carnegie skirted past Lookeba-Sickles 46-43 in their previous matchup back in December of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for Carnegie since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
