It's playoff time, and Fort Myers had no trouble coming through when it counted. They had just enough and edged out the Braden River Pirates 2-1 on Wednesday. The win was nothing new for the Green Wave as they're now sitting on five straight.

Alexander Mankin made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Mankin was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one run and one double.

Mankin wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Michael Magas, who went 1-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

Fort Myers' victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 21-10. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. As for Braden River, the loss snapped their winning streak at seven games and leaves them with a 18-11 record.

Fort Myers will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Pirates: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
