Basketball Game Preview: Scott Central Rebels vs. Bay Springs Bulldogs

The Scott Central Rebels will venture away from home to challenge the Bay Springs Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.

Last Friday, Scott Central came up short against Newton and fell 44-36. The Rebels have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Bay Springs posted their closest victory since December 21, 2024 on Friday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Lake, sneaking past 63-60. Given the Bulldogs' advantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked 45th, while the Hornets are ranked 175th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Bay Springs has also been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 13 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 19-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.2 points per game. As for Scott Central, they now have a losing record at 8-9.

Scott Central came up short against Bay Springs when the teams last played on January 9th, falling 46-34. Can Scott Central avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
