Basketball Game Preview: Cook Inlet Academy Eagles vs. Shaktoolik Wolverines

The Cook Inlet Academy Eagles and the Shaktoolik Wolverines will face off at 4:30 p.m. on Friday without much rest having both just played. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Shaktoolik will be up against a hot Cook Inlet Academy team: the squad just extended their winning streak to seven. Cook Inlet Academy was the clear victor by a 63-38 margin over Nunamiut on Thursday.

Ian McGarry continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, putting up 30 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Cook Inlet Academy's points. Another player making a difference was Zach Armstrong, who posted 12 points.

Meanwhile, Shaktoolik was fully in charge on Thursday, breezing past Unalaska 73-45. Winning may never get old, but the Wolverines sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Cook Inlet Academy's win bumped their record up to 7-2. As for Shaktoolik, their victory bumped their record up to 5-3.

Cook Inlet Academy came up short against Shaktoolik in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, falling 72-65. Can Cook Inlet Academy avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
