Softball Game Preview: Staunton Bulldogs vs. Pawnee Indians

The Staunton Bulldogs will take on the Pawnee Indians at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.

While Staunton's victory against Mulberry Grove wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Bulldogs skirted past the Aces 3-1. The win was familiar territory for the Bulldogs, who have now won three games in a row.

Ele Feldmann spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on four hits and racked up nine Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Staunton's victory was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Izzy Janus, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one double.

Meanwhile, Pawnee posted their closest win since March 28th on Monday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 victory over Pleasant Plains. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Indians.

Staunton's win bumped their record up to 12-2. As for Pawnee, their victory bumped their record up to 12-4.
