Basketball Recap: Dundalk Piles Up the Points Against Owings Mills

It was a Battle of the Birds when Dundalk took on Owings Mills on Monday. The Dundalk Owls took their match with ease, bagging a 54-16 victory over the Owings Mills Golden Eagles. The Owls have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four games by 25 points or more this season.

It was another big night for Lanaya Valentine, who went 9 of 20 en route to 21 points along with six rebounds and five assists. That's the most points she has posted since back in January of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Mirah Simms, who posted five points in addition to 12 boards and five assists.

Valentine wasn't the only one working in the assists department: Dundalk was working as a unit and finished the game with 18 assists. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their assist total in three consecutive contests.

Dundalk's win bumped their record up to 6-4. As for Owings Mills, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-7-1.

Dundalk didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 52-27 victory against Randallstown on the 15th. Owings Mills has also already played their next game, a 40-22 defeat against Franklin on the 15th.
