Soccer Game Preview: Plainfield East vs. Naperville North

The Plainfield East Bengals will face off against the Naperville North Huskies at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Plainfield East will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more goals each game than the last.

Plainfield East had to skate by with only a one-goal margin when they last took the pitch, which might have inspired the four-goal drubbing they dealt Bolingbrook on Tuesday. The Bengals were the clear victors by a 5-1 margin over the Raiders. The result was nothing new for Plainfield East, who have now won six contests by four goals or more so far this season.

Kessiah Purnell and Caroline Dinnon scored all five of Plainfield East's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 25 goals.

Meanwhile, Naperville North faced Neuqua Valley in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Huskies fell just short of the Wildcats by a score of 1-0. The match was a 0-0 toss-up at halftime, but Naperville North couldn't quite close it out.

Naperville North's defeat dropped their record down to 11-5-3. As for Plainfield East, the win got them back to even at 9-9-2.
