Preview: Olympic Trojans vs. North Kitsap Vikings
Olympic is 1-8 against North Kitsap since October of 2014 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Olympic Trojans will head out on the road to face off against the North Kitsap Vikings at 6:30 p.m. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Olympic comes in on three and North Kitsap on six.
Olympic can now show off four landslide victories after their most recent game on Friday. They claimed a resounding 52-8 victory over North Mason on the road. The matchup was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point Olympic had established a 37 point advantage.
Olympic can attribute much of their success to Riley Mccoy, who rushed for 176 yards and a touchdown while picking up 9.8 yards per carry. Jeremiah Swain got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Meanwhile, North Kitsap put the finishing touches on their fifth blowout victory of the season on Friday. They blew past Sequim, posting a 45-11 victory on the road. Given North Kitsap's advantage in MaxPreps' Washington football rankings (they are ranked 28th, while Sequim is ranked 195th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Olympic's win bumped their record up to 5-3. As for North Kitsap, their victory was their eighth straight on the road (dating back to last season), which bumped their overall record up to 7-1.
Olympic was dealt a bruising 42-0 loss at the hands of North Kitsap in their previous matchup back in October of 2022. Can Olympic avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
