Basketball Recap: South Plainfield Takes a Loss

If South Plainfield was riding high fresh off their 51-26 takedown of Perth Amboy last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The South Plainfield Tigers fell just short of the Edison Eagles by a score of 38-36 on Saturday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Tigers have suffered since February 1st.

South Plainfield's defeat was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Edison, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 3-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. South Plainfield will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Spotswood at 5:30 p.m. on January 2, 2025. As for Edison, they will be home for the holidays to greet Metuchen at 10:00 a.m. on Monday.
