Basketball Game Preview: Claymont Mustangs vs. Newcomerstown Trojans

Claymont is on a four-game streak of home losses, Newcomerstown a seven-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck will change on Saturday. The Claymont Mustangs will host the Newcomerstown Trojans at 10:00 a.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

Claymont lost 72-47 to Coshocton on Wednesday. While losing is never fun, the Mustangs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 633rd, while the Redskins are ranked 105th).

Meanwhile, Newcomerstown lost to Tuslaw at home by a 70-54 margin on Wednesday.

Newcomerstown's loss dropped their record down to 4-17. As for Claymont, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-16.

Claymont strolled past Newcomerstown in their previous matchup back in January by a score of 58-44. Does Claymont have another victory up their sleeve, or will Newcomerstown turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
