Basketball Recap: Gadsden Find Success

After losing to Silver the last time they met, Gadsden decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Gadsden Panthers snuck past the Silver Fighting Colts with a 48-43 win on Tuesday.

Several Fighting Colts players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Taylianna Castillo, who went 5 for 12 on her way to 14 points and seven rebounds. The dominant performance gave Castillo a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Nyssa Torres, who posted five points and 15 rebounds.

Gadsden's victory bumped their record up to 4-5.

Gadsden didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 56-39 loss against Artesia on the 21st. As for Silver, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 62-46 defeat against Clovis on the 19th.
