Softball Recap: Southeast Alamance Victorious

Southeast Alamance posted their closest victory since April 22, 2024 on Wednesday. They had just enough and edged out the Clover Garden School Grizzlies 8-7.

Tatum Shelton spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and three unearned) runs on 12 hits.

On the hitting side, Brooke Hardister was a standout: she went 2-for-4 with four RBI and one double. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Anna Thomas, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-3.

Southeast Alamance's win bumped their record up to 5-6. As for Clover Garden School, they moved to 7-3 with that defeat, which also ended their five-game winning streak.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Southeast Alamance will venture away from home to square off against Chatham Central at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Chatham Central will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Southeast Alamance surely won't give up without a fight. As for Clover Garden School, they will head out on the road to challenge Leadership Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Clover Garden School will need to watch out since Leadership Academy has now posted at least ten runs in their last three matches.
