Soccer Recap: Gilbert Comes Up Short

After soaring to four goals the game before, Gilbert was a bit more limited in their contest on Friday. They lost 8-1 to the South Aiken Thoroughbreds. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Gilbert of the 6-1 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2025.

Their goal came courtesy of AJ Nunn, who's now up to two this season.

Gilbert's loss dropped their record down to 4-2. As for South Aiken, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 5-1.

Looking ahead, Gilbert is taking a road trip to face off against Midland Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for South Aiken, they will welcome North Augusta at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. South Aiken's defense better be ready for this one: North Augusta have averaged an impressive 2.8 goals per game this season.
