Softball Recap: Delaware County Christian Knights vs. Bristol Warriors
Delaware County Christian extended their losing streak to six on Thursday, dropping their season record down to 1-7 in the process. They came up short against the Bristol Warriors, falling 16-1. If the Knights were looking for revenge after losing 31-2 to the Warriors when the teams met back in May of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.
Maryn D'Antonio was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one triple and one run.
As for Bristol, their victory was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-1. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 12.9 runs.
On Bristol's side, Aubrey McIlvaine looked comfortable as she pitched three innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits.
On the hitting side, Bristol got a massive performance out of Amirah Bell, who went 2-for-3 with three runs and three RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Brianna Slack, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one double.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Delaware County Christian will take on Faith Christian Academy at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Lions have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 10.33 runs per game on average), something the Knights will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Bristol, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against The Christian Academy at 3:45 p.m.
