Recap: Stuart W. Cramer Storm vs. Crest Chargers
The Stuart W. Cramer Storm pushed their score all the way to 56 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They suffered a tough 82-56 loss at the hands of Crest. While losing is never fun, Stuart W. Cramer can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 395th, while Crest is ranked 39th).
Stuart W. Cramer's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Taelan Whitley, who scored seven points along with six rebounds and two blocks. Whitley is on a roll when it comes to blocks, as he's now posted two or more in the last seven games he's played. Another player making a difference was Kingston Womack, who scored ten points.
Aj Adams was his usual excellent self, scoring 22 points along with five assists and two steals for Crest. Adams hasn't dropped below 16 points for four straight games. Lyrik Pettis was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with seven rebounds.
Stuart W. Cramer has traveled a rocky road recently having lost eight of their last nine matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-15 record this season. As for Crest, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 15-2.
Stuart W. Cramer will head out on the road to face off against Huss at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Stuart W. Cramer is coming into the match with six straight defeats on the road, meaning Huss will have to defend against a squad hungry for a victory. As for Crest, they will be playing in front of their home fans against South Point at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Crest knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past 16 games -- so hopefully South Point likes a good challenge.
