Softball Recap: Calvary Christian Continues Home Dominance on Tuesday

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Calvary Christian). They put the hurt on the Indian Rocks Christian Eagles with a sharp 16-0 win on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for the Warriors, who have now won 13 matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Katie Kapusta made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out eight over four innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Those two RBI gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Julia Tamulski was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Kaelyn Dolt also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.

Calvary Christian was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .571. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Calvary Christian's victory was their 20th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 21-1. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.1 runs over those games. As for Indian Rocks Christian, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost ten of their last 11 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-18 record this season.

Calvary Christian has already played their next game, a 6-3 victory against Palm Harbor University on the 17th. As for Indian Rocks Christian, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 17-1 win against Hernando Christian Academy on the 21st.
