Baseball Game Preview: Hubbard Eagles vs. Cardinal Mooney Cardinals

The Hubbard Eagles will head out to challenge the Cardinal Mooney Cardinals at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hubbard will be looking to extend their current 13-game winning streak.

Hubbard's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They blew past McKinley 13-0. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won seven matches by six runs or more so far this season.

Meanwhile, after only two runs in their last game, Cardinal Mooney made sure to put some runs up on the board against West Branch on Tuesday. The Cardinals put the hurt on the Warriors with a sharp 13-1 win. The Cardinals are also no stranger to big wins: their blowout was the eighth contest they've won by 6+ runs this season.

Ford Stacy made a splash while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over five innings pitched. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with three RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April.

In other batting news, Johnny Brenner was a standout: he went a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run and three RBI. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Andrew Bushey was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with three runs and one stolen base.
