Baseball Recap: Sage Creek Comes Up Short

Sage Creek entered their contest against San Marcos on Thursday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Bobcats fell just short of the Knights by a score of 3-2. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Bobcats of the 20-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2024.

Sean Saiki made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Lucas Henson, who went 2-for-3 with one triple and one double.

Sage Creek suffered their first home loss, dropping their record down to 5-4. As for San Marcos, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-2.

Sage Creek has already played their next matchup, a 2-1 defeat against Cathedral Catholic on the 31st. As for San Marcos, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 4-3 win against Patrick Henry on the 31st.
