Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Tenaya Brown and Davina Fernandez-Guillen Lead Lake Mead Christian Academy to Victory

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Needles, Lake Mead Christian Academy was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. They enjoyed a cozy 40-23 victory over the Laughlin Cougars. The Eagles pushed the score to 34-12 by the end of the third, a deficit the Cougars cut but never quite recovered from.

Lake Mead Christian Academy was led to victory by Davina Fernandez-Guillen and Tenaya Brown. Fernandez-Guillen posted 16 points, while Brown put up 11 points. That's the most points Fernandez-Guillen has posted since back in December of 2024.

Lake Mead Christian Academy's win bumped their record up to 9-7. As for Laughlin, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-11.

Looking ahead, Lake Mead Christian Academy will square off against GV Christian at 6:20 p.m. on Thursday. GV Christian has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games. Laughlin does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
