The Willow Canyon Wildcats will challenge the Ironwood Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Ironwood took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Willow Canyon, who comes in off a win.
Willow Canyon made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Canyon View, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Wildcats were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Jaguars on Friday. The Wildcats not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since March 27th.
Willow Canyon never let Canyon View on the board, but things got pretty close in the second set. The match finished with set scores of 25-16, 25-22, 25-19.
Meanwhile, Ironwood lost 3-0 to Sunrise Mountain on Friday.
The final score came out to 25-22, 25-22, 25-15.
Willow Canyon will have to contain Colton Working as he made an impact in Ironwood's last game. He had nine digs and one assist.
Willow Canyon is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-8 record this season. As for Ironwood, their loss dropped their record down to 10-12.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Tuesday's game: Willow Canyon has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 5 aces per game. However, it's not like Ironwood struggles in that department as they've been averaging 5.8 aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
