Volleyball Recap: Jay's Victory on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Five

Jay came tearing into Thursday's contest with four straight wins , and they left with even more momentum. Everything went their way against the T.R. Miller Tigers as they made off with a 3-0 victory. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win the Royals have posted against the Tigers since September 17, 2019.

While Jay won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the second set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 25-22, 25-20.

Aubreigh Nelson paced Jay's offense, picking up 14 kills. Nelson got some help from Bailey Lowry and her 24 assists. Finally, Lucy Locklin kept Jay's defense grounded, leading the team with six blocks.

Jay's victory bumped their record up to 5-0. As for T.R. Miller, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Jay will challenge Pensacola at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for T.R. Miller, they will be defending their home court for the first time this season when they go up against Satsuma at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
