Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Millikan). Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Credo Gryphon a 27-0 shutout on Tuesday. Winning may never get old, but the Rams sure are getting used to it with their seventh in a row.
Daniel Steimke was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, he posted two strikeouts, the most he's had over his last four matchups. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.
In other pitching news, Ian Carmona looked comfortable as he struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and only one walk). Those six strikeouts gave him a new career-high.
Back at the plate, Millikan got a massive performance out of Adrian Ramirez, who went 2-for-3 with five RBI, two runs, and one triple. Those five RBI gave Ramirez a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jacob Amado, who went 2-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one double.
Millikan hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Credo struck out eight times.
Millikan's win bumped their record up to 17-5. As for Credo, they now have a losing record of 6-7-1.
Coming up, Millikan will challenge Templeton at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Credo, they will host Stevenson at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
