Soccer Game Preview: McKinney vs. Prosper

McKinney hasn't had much luck against Prosper recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The McKinney Lions are taking a road trip to square off against the Prosper Eagles at 7:30 p.m.

McKinney is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to four goals on Tuesday, they were much more limited against Plano West on Friday. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Wolves. While losing is never fun, the Lions can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 140th, while Wolves are ranked 32nd).

Meanwhile, Prosper entered their tilt with Plano on Friday with five consecutive wins , and they'll enter their next game with six. They put the hurt on the Wildcats with a sharp 6-0 victory. Give the Eagles' defense some credit: that's the team's third straight shutout.

Prosper pushed their record up to 14-3 with the win, which was their seventh straight on the road. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 21 goals over those seven games. As for McKinney, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-11.
