Preview: Mingo Central Miners vs. Man Hillbillies
After two games on the road, Mingo Central is heading back home. They will take on the Man Hillbillies at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Last Friday, Mingo Central beat Lincoln County 65-58.
Mingo Central's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Chris Ross, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 11 rebounds. Kendan Trent was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 13 points and 10 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Man was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Friday as they fell 60-55 to River View.
The losses dropped Mingo Central to 1-1 and Lincoln County to 0-3.
Everything came up roses for Mingo Central against Man when the teams last played back in January as the squad secured a 72-32 win. Will Mingo Central repeat their success, or does Man have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
