Basketball Recap: Santa Fe Indian's Win on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Santa Fe Indian waltzed into their matchup on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They snuck past the Laguna Acoma Hawks with a 45-40 victory. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Braves also won the last time the pair played back in March of 2019.

Loss or not, Laguna Acoma got some senior leadership from Gianna Carrillo and Jazmyne Carrillo. Gianna posted 23 points, while Jazmyne scored 12 points and five rebounds. Gianna continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played.

Santa Fe Indian is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.1 points per game. As for Laguna Acoma, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 5-5.

Santa Fe Indian wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 57-33 win against Mesa Vista on the 11th. As for Laguna Acoma, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 60-54 victory against Cuba on the 11th.
