Baseball Recap: Colt Carmichael and Colton Sweat Secure Win for West Forsyth

West Forsyth barely beat Lambert the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Wolverines' pitcher stepped up to hand the Longhorns a 9-0 shutout on Friday. The Wolverines haven't had any issues with the Longhorns recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

The result came thanks to Jacob Sheckter's shutout, as he gave up just a hit and racked up 14 Ks. Those 14 strikeouts set a new season-high mark for him.

At the plate, Colton Sweat and Colt Carmichael did most of the damage at the plate: Sweat went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, one triple, and two RBI, while Carmichael scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Sweat has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Mason Meehan, who went 2-for-4 with two doubles and one RBI.

West Forsyth's record is now 17-10. As for Lambert, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-18.
