Softball Recap: Higley Takes a Loss

Higley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They lost 11-5 to the Mountain View Toros.

Higley saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Reese Elkins, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Higley's defeat dropped their record down to 6-16-1. As for Mountain View, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 14-6.

Coming up, Higley will look to defend their home field on Monday against Mesquite at 6:30 p.m. The Knights are facing the Wildcats at the right time seeing as the Wildcats are stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Mountain View, they will head out on the road to square off against Perry at 3:45 p.m. on Monday. The Toros' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Pumas have averaged an impressive 6.2 runs per game this season.
