Softball Recap: Tilden Takes a Loss

Tilden extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to 15 on Thursday, dropping their season record down to 0-2 in the process. They came up short against the Phillips Wildcats, falling 16-1. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wildcats this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 21-3 on Tuesday.

As for Phillips, the victory got them back to even at 2-2. The win made it back-to-back victories for they.

For Phillips' part, Makayla Dekeyser was a standout: she went a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run, three stolen bases, and two runs. That's the most stolen bases Dekeyser has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Alanah Holiday, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with six stolen bases and two runs.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Tilden will square off against rival Hubbard at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Phillips is set to take on their familiar foe Hyde Park at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
