Football Game Preview: Sultana Sultans vs. Apple Valley Sun Devils + Official Tickets

Sultana is 0-10 against Apple Valley since November of 2015 but things could change on Friday. The Sultans will take on the Sun Devils at 7:00 p.m. Sultana has given up an average of 36.8 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Sultana is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They took a 33-28 hit to the loss column at the hands of Hesperia on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Sultans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 674th, while the Scorpions are ranked 308th).

Sultana's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Dell Hester, who gained 252 total yards and two touchdowns, and Austin Mullinax, who rushed for 57 yards and two TDs on only five carries. Hester's longest rush was for an incredible 75 yards.

Meanwhile, Apple Valley made easy work of Serrano on Thursday and carried off a 35-14 victory. The win continues a trend for the Sun Devils in their matchups with the Diamondbacks: they've now won six in a row.

Apple Valley's win came from a few key players Sultana will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Noah Hardeman, who rushed for 76 yards and one touchdown on only nine carries.

Apple Valley now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Sultana, their loss dropped their record down to 1-8.

Sultana was taken down by Apple Valley 41-6 in their previous matchup back in October of 2024. That matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Sultans were down 20-0.
