Baseball Recap: Ramona Extends Home Winning Streak to Six

Ramona got themselves on the board against Foothills Christian on Thursday, but Foothills Christian never followed suit. They were the clear victors by an 11-0 margin over the Knights. The contest marked the Bulldogs' most dominant win of the season so far.

Justin Jarrett made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit over four innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Ramona is 3-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 3-4 otherwise. Jarrett was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, Derek Taylor was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-2. Another player making a difference was Cal Melendez, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Ramona kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Ramona's victory was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-5. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. As for Foothills Christian, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-9.
