Basketball Recap: Overton Gets the Win

Sandhills/Thedford came into Thursday's game looking for another win against Overton, but Eli Luther wouldn't allow it. The Overton Eagles rang in the new year with a 56-44 victory over the Sandhills/Thedford Knights on Thursday thanks in part to Luther, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and ten boards. That makes it three consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Overton's points.

Brock McCarter was another key player, dropping a double-double on 16 points and ten boards. McCarter is crushing it when it comes to rebounds: he's pulled down at least nine every time he's taken the court this season.

Overton now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Sandhills/Thedford, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-5.

Overton wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 65-43 loss against Shelton on the 3rd. As for Sandhills/Thedford, they will venture away from home to square off against South Loup on Thursday.
