Recap: Jefferson City Jays vs. Rolla Bulldogs
The Jefferson City Jays were the 39-38 winner over the Rolla Bulldogs when they last played one another back in December of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. Jefferson City fell 55-43 to Rolla on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, Jefferson City can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 203rd, while Rolla is ranked 74th).
Rolla's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Resa Martin, who scored 12 points along with 6 assists and 6 rebounds. The matchup was Martin's third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Akaela Caquelin, who scored 9 points along with 6 rebounds and 5 assists.
Jefferson City has fallen quite a ways from their 21-8 record last season and are now at 1-2. As for Rolla, their win bumped their record up to 4-1.
Jefferson City will be playing in front of their home fans against Kickapoo at 5:30 p.m. on December 14th. Kickapoo will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak. Rolla will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on St. Elizabeth at 12:00 p.m. on December 16th.
