Baseball Recap: Herriman Comes Up Short

Herriman blew Corner Canyon out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Wednesday Corner Canyon got their revenge. The Mustangs fell just short of the Chargers by a score of 4-2. Having soared to a lofty 13 runs in the game before, the Mustangs couldn't push the score so high this time.

Herriman saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cache Carter, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two doubles.

Herriman dropped their record down to 8-7 with the loss, which was their third straight at home. Even worse, they were so close so many times: the defeats came by an average of only 1.67 runs. As for Corner Canyon, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season.

While Herriman had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.
