Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Rye). They breezed past the Salida Spartans to the tune of 49-12 on Friday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest victory of the season.

Rye got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Jackson Bjorum out in front who rushed for 130 yards and a pair of TDs on only 11 carries. Another signal caller making a difference was Brady Baumgartner, who threw for 120 yards and three touchdowns.

Rye's victory bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Salida, they are on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Rye has already played their next game, a 20-13 win against Woodland Park on the 26th. As for Salida, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Pagosa Springs at 7:00 p.m. on October 3. The matchup will give the Spartans their first taste of in-conference action this season.
