Volleyball Recap: Tularosa Wildcats vs. Dexter Demons
Tularosa had lost three straight at home, but on Thursday they dropped down to 12-9 to make it four. They fell 3-1 to the Dexter Demons. The Wildcats were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Demons earlier this season, when they won 3-2.
Emma Quintanilla paced Tularosa's offense, picking up 12 kills. Quintanilla got some help from Jaleria Caje and her 31 assists.
As for Dexter, their victory was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 13-8. The win was a breath of fresh air for they as it put an end to their three-match losing streak.
Emily DeLaRosa was a one-woman wrecking crew as she had five digs and two aces. She has been hot for a while, having also posted 12 or more assists the last 22 times she's played. Kaellie Vandenbout was another key player, getting eight kills, three aces, and two blocks.
