Vienna proved they can win big on Friday (they won by ten) and on Monday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 victory over the Linn Wildcats. That's more bragging rights for the Eagles, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Vienna has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-8 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. As for Linn, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-13.

Looking ahead, Vienna will challenge New Haven at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Linn, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 3-2 defeat against Owensville on the 5th.
