Baseball Recap: Las Lomas Knights vs. San Rafael Bulldogs
After flying high against Berean Christian on Thursday, Las Lomas came back down to earth. The Knights took a 9-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of the San Rafael Bulldogs on Friday. The Knights were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bulldogs apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2019.
Izaiah Metzger made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with four RBI, one triple, and one run. Jack Foscalina was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs and one double.
Las Lomas' defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-10-1. As for San Rafael, the victory got them back to even at 12-12.
Coming up, Las Lomas will be playing at home against Miramonte at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Matadors' pitching crew has only allowed 3.8 runs per game this season, so the Knights' hitters will have their work cut out for them. San Rafael does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
