Baseball Recap: Waldport Sets Scoring Season-High Against Neah-Kah-Nie

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Waldport). They put the hurt on the Neah-Kah-Nie Pirates with a sharp 29-9 win on Thursday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest victory of the season.

The win made it two in a row for Waldport and bumps their season record up to 5-9. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 19.0 runs over those games. As for Neah-Kah-Nie, their loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 4-13-1.

Waldport wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, a 14-4 win against Eddyville on the 2nd. As for Neah-Kah-Nie, they will challenge Warrenton at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Warriors will roll in looking for their 12th straight victory, something the Pirates surely won't give up without a fight.
