Baseball Recap: Marianna Takes a Loss

Wednesday just wasn't the day for Marianna's offense. They fell 3-0 to the Florida State University High School Seminoles on Wednesday. The Bulldogs were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Seminoles earlier this season, when they won 7-4.

Torin Clark-Hussey spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on four hits.

At the plate, Marianna saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jordan Broxton, who went 2-for-3 with one double. Those two hits gave Broxton a new career-high.

Marianna has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-10 record this season. Florida State University High School moved to 4-15 with that victory, which also ended their eight-game losing streak.

Looking ahead, Marianna will challenge Sneads at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Marianna is facing Sneads at the right time seeing as Sneads is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Florida State University High School, they will welcome Taylor County at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Someone's luck will take a turn for the better: Florida State University High School has lost five straight at home , while Taylor County has lost four on the road.
