Softball Game Preview: Cumberland Clippers vs. Moses Brown Quakers

Cumberland is on a three-game streak of home losses, and Moses Brown a five-game streak of away losses dating back to last season. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Thursday. The Cumberland Clippers will be playing at home against the Moses Brown Quakers at 4:30 p.m. Moses Brown took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Cumberland, who comes in off a win.

Cumberland headed into their last contest having not scored more than two runs for three straight, but North Kingstown let them put that streak behind them. The Clippers skirted past the Skippers 12-10. The Clippers haven't had any issues with the Skippers recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.

Meanwhile, Moses Brown lost 11-4 to East Providence on Tuesday.

Coco Medeiros was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one home run. Sofia Arias also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.

Moses Brown's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Cumberland, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-7.

Cumberland took their victory against Moses Brown when the teams last played back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 10-0 score. Will the Clippers repeat their success, or do the Quakers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
