Matthew Fields was a major factor no matter where he played. He kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 14 over seven innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one triple, one stolen base, and one run.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Wyatt Reisman, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and two RBI. That's the most hits he has posted over his last 11 matchups. Another player making a difference was Nolan Burkhart, who went 1-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
Meanwhile, Tri can bid farewell to their four-game losing streak thanks to their game on Thursday. They came out on top against South Decatur by a score of 10-5. That looming 10-5 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Titans yet this season.
Like North Decatur, Tri also got a great game from a two-way player: Karter Lunsford. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off six hits (and only one walk). Lunsford was also big at the plate, going 3-for-5 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.

Tri's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: North Decatur hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .345. It's a different story for Tri, though, as they've only averaged .186. Will they be able to contain North Decatur's hitters?
Everything went North Decatur's way against Tri in their previous matchup on May 1st, as North Decatur made off with a 15-2 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Chargers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
