Basketball Recap: Miles Perry Key Part of a Team Effort in Falcons Win

There's no place like home for Veritas Prep, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They secured a 71-67 W over the Camp Verde Cowboys on Monday.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Veritas Prep to victory, but perhaps none more so than Miles Perry, who went 6 for 12 on his way to 20 points in addition to six rebounds and six steals. Those 20 points gave Perry a new career-high. Carter Perry was another key player, going 9 of 16 en route to 21 points along with seven boards and three steals.

Camp Verde lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Julian Perez, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 17 rebounds. Perez is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Tristan Clarke, who went 6 for 11 on his way to 17 points.

Veritas Prep's win bumped their record up to 12-8. As for Camp Verde, their loss was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 9-9.

Veritas Prep has already played their next matchup, a 69-38 defeat against Phoenix Country Day on the 15th. Camp Verde has also already played their next game (against Fountain Hills), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
