Basketball Recap: Box Elder Snaps Eight-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Hays-Lodge Pole, Box Elder was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. In a tight contest that could have gone either way, they made off with a 54-53 win over the Centerville Miners. The victory was some much needed relief for the Bears as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Leading Box Elder to victory were Martay Stiffarm-Rosette and Shareece Raining Bird. Stiffarm-Rosette posted 19 points, while Raining Bird had 17 points. Those 17 points gave Raining Bird a new career-high.

Box Elder's win ended an eight-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 5-9. As for Centerville, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-8.

Box Elder will square off against Turner at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Centerville, they will challenge Great Falls Central Catholic at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Someone's luck will take a turn for the better: Great Falls Central Catholic has lost five straight at home , while Centerville has lost four on the road (dating back to last season).
