Baseball Recap: De Anza Snaps Nine-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

De Anza's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They had just enough and edged out the Saint Mary's Panthers 7-6. The game was the first time the Dons have beaten the Panthers on their field since March 1, 2022.

Ty Willson made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched four innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits. Willson was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with one home run, one stolen base, and one double.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ian Garcia, who went 1-for-4 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in April of 2024. Chad Oakley was another key player, going 1-for-4 with two RBI.

De Anza's win ended a nine-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-14-1. As for Saint Mary's, they moved to 7-17 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

As of now, neither De Anza nor the Panthers have any future games scheduled.
