Softball Recap: Lunenburg Wins Going Away Against Littleton

Lunenburg hadn't done well against Littleton recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Blue Knights were the clear victors by a 12-6 margin over the Tigers. This was payback for the Blue Knights, who suffered a 10-5 loss the last time these two teams met.

Maegan Martell made a big impact no matter where she played. She struck out eight batters over seven innings while giving up six earned runs off eight hits. Martell was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-5 with one double.

In other batting news, Lilly Grebinar was incredible, going 4-for-5 with four runs, three doubles, and two RBI. Julia Grebinar was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-5.

Lunenburg always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .535. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Littleton only posted an OBP of .375.

Lunenburg has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 8.5 runs this season. As for Littleton, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 1-3.

Looking ahead, Lunenburg will square off against Leominster at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Littleton, they will face off against Tahanto Regional at 3:45 p.m. on Monday.
