Volleyball Recap: Maryvale Comes Up Short

Maryvale was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Browne Bruins. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bruins this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-1 last Thursday.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 18-25, 25-21, 25-14.

Viridiana Trejo Rios paced Maryvale's offense, picking up seven kills. Trejo Rios got some help from Melissa Higuera and her eight assists. Amberlynn Chacon controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

Maryvale's loss dropped their record down to 3-12. As for Browne, their victory ended a three-match drought at home and bumped them up to 8-10.

Maryvale has already played their next matchup, a 3-1 win against Camelback on the 27th. As for Browne, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-1 defeat against Cesar Chavez on the 27th.
