Two dominant signal callers in Logan Murindagomo and Jacob Janecek are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Independence Knights will take on the Lovejoy Leopards at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Last Friday, Independence had to suffer through a 70-29 loss at the hands of Anna. The Knights were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 42-8.

Loss or not, Independence got some senior leadership from Murindagomo and Mckenzie West. Murindagomo threw for 184 yards and two touchdowns, while West picked up 132 receiving yards and a touchdown.

Meanwhile, Lovejoy entered their tilt with Melissa on Friday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 41-38 victory over the Cardinals.

Janecek was his usual excellent self, throwing for 234 yards and three touchdowns, while also rushing for 77 yards and a touchdown. He is on a roll when it comes to passing touchdowns, as he's now passed for three or more in the last three games he's played dating back to last season. Daylan McCutcheon was Janecek's top target, picking up 120 receiving yards and a touchdown.

Lovejoy didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of RJ McIntosh and Beyer Toyooka. Owen Magee was another major factor on D, picking up a sack, making 12 total tackles, and defending a pass.

Independence dropped their record down to 2-4 with the defeat, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Lovejoy, they now have a winning record of 3-2.
