Baseball Recap: Chandler Lions vs. Mount St. Mary Rockets
Chandler dropped to 11-13 on Saturday, ending the team's three-game streak of wins at home. They lost 12-6 to the Mount St. Mary Rockets. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Lions have suffered since May 4, 2025.
As for Mount St. Mary, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 27-7 record this season. Considering they have won 19 games by more than five runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.
For Mount St. Mary's part, Miles Stanley made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. In other batting news, Jefferson Hodge was excellent, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with five stolen bases and three runs. Those five stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Will Grayson was another key player, going 3-for-5 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.
Looking ahead, Chandler will be playing at home against Wellston at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Mount St. Mary does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
