Basketball Recap: St. David's Continues Home Dominance on Tuesday

While St. David didn't have the best season last year (they finished 8-18), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They took down the South Wake Sabres 71-55 on Tuesday. For the Warriors, this counts as revenge for the 64-63 victory the Sabres walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January.

St. David's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Marcus Green, who shot 50% from the field to rack up 22 points along with seven boards and five assists. Green's evening made it five games in a row in which he has scored at least 15 points. Will Migdal was another key player, going 7-for-15 en route to 23 points.

Despite the loss, South Wake had strong showings from Thomas Williams, who shot 62% from the field on his way to 19 points, and JJ Gugelman, who posted 12 points. Another player making a difference was Nathan Heiliger, who scored eight points.

St. David's victory was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 9-2. Those home wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.2 points over those games. As for South Wake, their defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 9-4.

Coming up, St. David's will take on North Raleigh Christian Academy in a tournament on Thursday. As for South Wake, they will be home for the holidays to greet Southeastern HomeSchool at 4:15 p.m. on Saturday.
